A few years back, I normally got offers for at least two free nights a month (mostly at the Fremont)...now, the best I get is the once-a-year "two free nights at any property" offer. Even as of earlier this year, I'd get a "second night free" type of deal at places like the Gold Coast, but in the last few months all I've been getting is the "reduced rate" offers. I've pretty well maintained Sapphire level for several years, but that doesn't seem to count for much.
