I was just going through last months posts and came upon a thread about Payless car rental. I've never used them, but I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents about the rental car options at McCarran:
I've used Advantage exclusively for the past 4 or 5 years; in my opinion, there's no discernible difference between them and Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, etc, but they are a little cheaper. The only one I've used that I would steer anyone away from is Fox rentals. After you take the shuttle to the rental center, there's ANOTHER shuttle that you have to take to get to their lot. I had reserved a midsize, not knowing that their only midsize, at least when I rented from them, was the PT Cruiser. And there were no other vehicles, upgrades or downgrades, available at the time. The one I got was neon blue. I realized while driving to the gas station that the A/C didn't work...they replaced it with another neon blue PT Cruiser, supposedly the only other car on their lot that wasn't reserved. Even if I were a fan of neon blue PT Cruisers, the hassle of picking it up and dropping it off at a remote location wasn't worth the relatively small amount of money I saved.
