The newer casinos seem to be very consistent with their paytables. If I look at the menus for a whole row of machines and see that they all have the same games and denominations, I'll probably just check one machine in that row. Older casinos take more work.
Eventually you'll have more paytables memorized. I look for key numbers to remember, such as 99.45% BDW must have 9-4-4 and the SF must be 12 on 99.81% DBDW. Also look out for things like 5-coin royals that are less than 4000 and BP that pay 30 for all quads.
Be prepared to get hassled by security sometime in your scouting life. If you're going from machine to machine checking paytables, they will think you're up to no good or at least looking for left credits (silver mining). You'll attract less attention if you sit down at the machine when checking paytables and just check one machine per row each time.
Others will be grateful if you report what you find to vpFREE2, unless it's something you'd rather keep to yourself.
