[vpFREE] XVP: The Pearl Harbor of the 21st Century

I was making my morning sweep thru the flush attacks at the Pioneer Hotel & Gambling Hall in Laughlin, Nevada. I swept thru the ones up front then went back to the ones in the River Bar. I sat down on the first one and started playing. Before I knew it I was stuck bigtime. That machine just would not make any flushes....and no quads either. I was over $300 stuck and had made only two flushes....and making two flushes without the light coming on meant I was gonna have to make all four.

There were two security guards not far away staring at one of the televisions. I glanced up to see what was on TV. There was a tall building with smoke billowing out of it. Must have been an accident I thought, then bent my head down and kept on playing video poker. I was really steaming at being stuck over $300 on a sweep thru one machine (not my record; over $600 one time just to make four flushes).

Then I heard one of the security guards say "This is the Pearl Harbor of the 21st century." I looked back up at the TV to see smoke billowing out of the other tower. I got up and walked over to the guards. "What the hell is going on there?" I asked pointing at the RV. "The World Trade Center is being attacked" one of them said.

I stared at the TV watching events unfold for several minutes. Then I went back to the machine and cashed out. I went back to my hotel room and watched some more. I didn't do much but watch TV for the next few days wondering what the response would be from the leaders of our country.

I lost an uncle a long time ago who went half way around the world to take the ballgame to the enemy. I'm very proud of the young Americans today who are defending our freedom.
