Of course, your gambling bankroll would have grown the fastest if you started with nickels and moved up (or back down) to keep your rolling bankroll around 3000 bet sizes ($750 on five nickles, $1500 on ten nickels, $2250 on fifteen nickels, $3000 on twenty nickels, $3750 on five quarters, $7500 on ten quarters, $11,250 on fifteen quarters, $15,000 on five dollars). All of these denoms existed in the past, some of them (maybe all) still do today.
