[vpFREE] Re: Playing the "Casino Game"

All this is going to do is make Harrahs in AC take another look at their theoreticals on 9-6 DDB. I know one AC property where the theo is 1.5%. You might not like your offers so much in the future playing that machine.

If you were really smart, I'd keep the bragging and technical discussion to a minimum. After all, just like every other married couple I've come across, you're just recreational players, right? ;)

I will share one little vignette with you, and head back to work. I had prepped for what I thought was going to be a monster play...until the casino excluded VP from the promo less than 24 hours before it was to begin-and this place has really never offered anything which would let a pro take a swing at them. They also excluded some stuff, like their single zero roulette, their 98.5% multihand VBJ, both of which I believe are set to the slot cashback. The fact slots and marketing communicated well on this does not portend well for the future of advantage VP. I don't think this would have happened 18 months ago. Now, my Plan B is a lot better than most people's Plan A, but still...they thought this out a lot better than I would have expected them too.

Which kind of reminds me...anyone remember who wrote this? Yes,, I'll take Turncoat VP Writers for $200, Alex!

Lucrative promotions – Casinos that run the same
promotion over and over again have worked out the
bugs over time. But their players often get tired of
them, so the casinos look for something new to try.
Casino games and casino promotions are basically
applied math. The best players are almost always
fairly sharp at math. Marketing managers and slot
managers may seem math-challenged by comparison,
or simply not in tune with how a little ciphering can
affect the bottom line. Often we find that marketing
departments and slot departments don't even speak
with each other. Who creates new promotions and
who does the math at your casino? Are mistakes ever
made? It is often the case that if the promotion is a
success, everyone takes credit. If it ends up giving
away much more than intended, fingers start pointing.
If a promotion touches the slot department, the math
should at least be reviewed by the slot department, if
only for CYA purposes. If you don't know what to look
for, there are people out there who do.
