[casino_comps] Venetian Free Night Offer - Resort Fee

Here's the deal on the Venetian/Palazzo Resort Fee. If you are on a typical comp such as many of us were with the Winter Wonderland recently, you have the option of paying the resort fee.

Why would you choose to pay the resort fee ($15/day)? Because it includes internet and the fitness center. Internet access is about $12/day so if that's all you are going to use then just pay the internet charge and not the resort fee (saves $3). Going to use the fitness center? That charge is much higher than $15/day so if you are going to use the fitness center then pay the $15 resort fee instead.

Also note that typically you need to pay the resort fee for your entire stay when you request it at check-in but if you are willing to go back to the front desk mid-trip, then you can decline it initially and then start it when you are going to use the fitness center as they re-code your keys to work at the fitness center.

Those that get better comps are probably receiving internet and fitness center access for free so the resort fee is not relevant to them.

Note that when staying at Red Rock Resort and M Resort on a comp, they do not charge you the resort fee but you do get access to their fitness centers which are also seldomly used. I know that at M internet access is free (anyone can catch it just being in the casino) but I don't recall if you have to pay for it at RR.
