[vpFREE] XVP: paytables --- VP and slots

Comments abound regarding some poor VP paytables and the ignoramuses
that keep playing these machines. Some are advised to just play slots.

Well, has anyone ever noticed the difference in slot payoffs for the same game at different casinos?

Some years ago, I noticed a Penguin machine at one of the Station casinos only paid 500 for the 5 polar bears. I immediately thought it was not the payoff I had seen elsewhere, including back here in the midwest.

When I got downtown, sure enough, the 5 polar bears were paying 1000 points. (Maybe it was 250 vs 500, but I know the difference was double.)

Today I witnessed a red seven plus 2 double diamonds hit on a $5 slot machine. The player was waiting for a handpay, so I cruised past the machine thinking this may be a pretty attractive amount. I saw the amount was 400 x 2 x 2. Then I did a double take and saw the amount was $400 x 2 x 2 for $1600....on a $5 machine!

I'm thinking that a $1 Double Diamond machine would pay 300-400 coins for the red sevens alone, so the same hit would generate $1600 on a dollar machine, n'est pas?

This hit on the $5 machine should've been more like $6000. Anyway, the guy was as happy as punch.

Interesting.
