Since I was still curious I dialed the toll-free number on a Saturday.

"Please call during normal business hours Monday through Friday. Thank you".

Huh? A fancy shmancy place like Aria at City Center can't afford to pay a weekend operator?

Not discouraged, I called back during the week and asked about the beautiful Sky Suite that I would enjoy.

"Oh, that's not for you to actually STAY there. The brochure was an invitation to PREVIEW Aria. Would you like to check room rates?".

I explained I don't normally pay for casino rooms.

"Then we would be happy to pick up charges based on play during your stay".

I paused, knowing that there is a 0% chance I would respond to any offer as vague as that.

"No thanks".

I accept that Aria's first wave of marketing takes this approach. Eventually, I suppose the MGM-Mirage system will be integrated to more appropriately reward current players with specific Aria offers. And while contacting a host now might be productive, I would at least like to know what playable VP Aria will even offer before making any commitments.

In that regard, I predict that Aria will follow the trend of full-pay games only at higher denominations. But I do hope you locals at least get a shot at some decent short-term $1 (and perhaps even a few 25c) "pickings" during the opening weeks.
