[vpFREE] Giving good gambling % helps casino profit, in my opion!

For those few who remember the Frontier, during the long strike. I was there when they went on strike and when the went off. The Frontier was my home base. They were busy during strike. The question; WHY? Taxi cabs wouldn't take their cabs onto the property. They dropped you off , with your bags, on the sidewalk in front of the place. Walking onto the property, one was met by foul mouthed strikers calling your woman whores and throwing empty beer bottles at the guys. Over the years I saw more than one fist fight between customers and strickers. As I recall Frontier was busier than ever during the strike. I'm sure many of the customers were "strong" union folks.

Why would folks take abuse to patronize a place? Whats in it for them? GOOD GAMBLING! The Frontier was then managed by people not bean counters. Today if casino only makes 2% on slots and 1% on vp games, they would rather make 10% margin and have no customers. The Frontier had good slots that paid a good %. Of course there were always a lot of house machines that the casino made a lot on. Vp was also very good for customer. Craps and bj too was what customer wanted. In spite of the many years long strike, I believe Frontier made $$. Of course, it was a smaller place than todays properties.

I believe in one theory, offer folks what they want and they will beat a path to your door. It's not the % of profit that counts, it's whats left for the house that counts.

I know many will not agree. It's just just my opinion. I do suspect one thing. Every time todays casinos cut vp %, where we can watch them, they are probably cutting slots %.

Cheers....Jeep
