Re: [casino_comps] First bad experience in Las Vegas

I was staying at The Orleans and had put my bags in the car of a friend that was going to take me to the airport and was only going to use the room to take a nap, so I left my goose-down travel pillow (Bright blue slip cover) in the room along with the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door.
When I went to check out, I was locked out of my room and had to go to front desk, who called housekeeping, who opened the perfectly cleaned room...minus the pillow. After about an hour, nobody could explain the missing pillow and it was nowhere to be found.
They sent someone to the 'basement' to get me a free pillow as a nice gesture, but it was VERY oversized, hard as a rock, and unable to fit in an airplane seat. I had to leave behind.
Someone from Casino services called (after I filled out the online survey about my trip) and let me know that they had removed the food charges I had made to my room and apologized for the inconvenience.
Overall, they handled it well.

That is totally @#!$%#@% up on the part of the Nugget. A buddy of mine had a very similar experience at Red Rock back in late February but he never got anything back. I just don't understand what he casinos are thinking these days to their very valuable players/guests.

My first bad experience in Vegas and this happened at the Golden Nugget this past weekend. Check in on Friday, and was given a suite in the Spa Tower. Beautiful 2 story room. Thumbs up.

Put bag in room and went out to gamble. Got back to room early Saturday morning around 3:30 am. Slept and up around 11:30am and downstairs in the casino by around noon. Although I have a beautiful room, I'm the type that stays out all day and just use the room to sleep.

Once again gambled to around 3:30 am early Sunday. Go to the room, put the key in, but the key did not worked. Damn. Thinking that the key got de-magnetized, so trek downstairs to the front desk to try and get a new key.

At the front desk, they could not find me as registered guest!!!! So I showed them the "guest card" showing the dates of my arrival and checkout which was supposed to be Monday. After checking somemore, the front desk robot told me that they checked me out on Saturday just after I have gotten up and left the room!!!!

I ask why, of course the front desk robot could not answer me.

Then I ask what happened to my stuff that I left in the room. After numerous phone calls, I was told that the cleaning staff removed my toiletry bag and kept it in housekeeping somewhere. However, my bag that was in the closet with a couple of t-short on hangers were nowhere to be found.

Remember, this is around 4:00 in the morning. I'm tired. My cloths stinks and you don't want to be near my feet. So I asked the front desk robot if it is golden nugget's policy to check people out of their room before they are suppose to!!! Of course no answer was given.

Granted, the front desk robot offered me another room, but given their treatment so far, I declined.

By this time, someone from housekeeping arrived with a blue plastic bag with my toiletry bag inside, but my other bag with clothing and everything else is nowhere to be found.

Seeing that there were no answers to be gotten from the front desk robot and I really did not want to wake up the host that make the reservation for me, I just gave them my cell number and ask to them call me when they found my bag.

So I left with my toiletry bag and went to another casino on the strip.

Expecting a call early in the morning when someone with some sort of authority comeing in to work and could sort out the situtation but it was not to be. No one called.

So, I had to drag myself back downtown as I have some valuable items in the bag that I left in the room. Eventhough I showered, I had to put my old clothing back on. So I still stink.

I went to the host office told the host on duty my story and after more phone calls, I was told that someone else with a name that was close to mine asked to check out on Saturday and they make the mistake and check me out instead. Right!!!!!!! With my stuff still the room!!!!

At this point, I really didn't care for their explanation, I just wanted my bag. After a few calls, I was told my bag was at Lost and Found and the host sort of hinted for me to go there to get my bag. Yeah right!!!!

Seeing the expression on my face, he quickly call someone to bring it down. After retriving my bag, I check the bag and thank God everything was there. They actually did properly fold my t-shirts that I left hangin the closet. So I left my bag.

Today, Monday, I have left a message with the host that make my reservation to call me but alas no call yet. Maybe tomorrow (they are very busy you know ...) or the day after or probably never.

Well, golden nugget will never see 1 gambling dollar from me again.

Thanks for listening. I had to vent somewhere.
