RE: [casino_comps] Christmas In Vegas

I live in Vegas and can tell you that the weather in mid-late December is unpredictable. Last year we had a freak snow storm blow through just before Christmas but Christmas day was a sunny and warm day around 70 degrees if I remember correctly. Usually the weather is cooler and windy around the holidays so my advice is to check the long term forecast on a website like www.wunderground.com about a week prior to your trip and that'll give you an idea of what to pack. As far as how busy it will be is anyone's guess because the recession has hit us hard but generally speaking Thanksgiving and New Years weekends are usually busier than Christmas weekend. If you're used to coming in the Spring it'll probably be a similar amt of people as Springtime in Vegas is quite popular.

Hope that helps!

I have spent many Dec trips in Vegas and I love it!

It is a little chilly and is only 'really cold' if the wind kicks up.

"Really cold" is also relative. Being from MN, 50 is still t-shirt temp!

The casino's seem less crowded, as does traffic.

Hi -- Has anyone here been to Vegas in December? We're renting a house near the Strip for Xmas. I'm guessing the weather won't permit using the pool? And do you know how crowded the casinos are likely to be? We usually go in the Spring, so wondering if late December is less busy. Or maybe more?
