I have two stories to share, both happening this past April on a trip to Vegas.
The 1st was at the Hard Rock, I had 15 mins to kill before a poker tourney, so I sat down to play $1 3 Play DDB at a bank of machines just outside the sports book. After 3-4 hands I was dealt a full house, the very next hand I was dealt a 4OAK, 10s I think...very cool, a few more hands and nothing more - oh well I had my poker buy in more than paid for. After getting knocked out of the tourney, I went back to the same machine; 1st hand, dealt full house; next hand, you guessed it, dealt 4OAK, this time Kings.... A few more hands of nothing so off I went cashing out for the two "sessions" up around $1500.
I returned the next day to play in another tourney, tried the same machine before & after the tourney with zero luck & $300 down the drain.
The 2nd was at MSS, playing 5 play .25 DDB & DB, switching back and forth between the games...The night before, I played this machine for hrs and pretty much broke even. I had an hr to kill before dinner reservations and the wife was playing VP at the Boars Head bar. Within the hr I had accumulated 14 of the 4OAK scratch cards that they hand out when a 4OAK or better hits. Not a single 4OAK was dealt to me and I never had a payout higher than 250 credits on any of the ones I hit. I am sure that the slot techs were getting tired of coming to my machine every few mins to hand me a scratch off card.
I cashed out up $700+.
After dinner, I returned to the same machine to play the same games; no one had played on it since the amt that I was paid was still showing at the bottom of the screen...could lightning strike 2X?? Not really. I played this machine for about 3 hrs, hit about 5-6 4OAKs and was down about $600. I was about to pack it in for the night, but decided to switch to 3 Play Bonus Deluxe with the last $100 that I was willing to donate for the night. On the very 1st hand I was dealt 3 to a Royal, the redraw gave me 1 Royal, 1 straight flush and one flush. I immediately cashed out and called it a night.
