You are absolutely correct . My brain sometimes revert back to the old days before the new rent a center.
 
The tunnel only comes into play when you are taking a taxi.
 
Mind you when coming from Henderson or south Las Vegas I have used the tunnel when going to many strip hotels to avoid traffic by going down Paradise.

I'm either confused or misremembering how the tunnel, 215, and 15 are configured. If one picks up a rental car at the Rental Center, how does the tunnel come into play if one is going to South LV, Henderson, or the Boulder strip? And going downtown? The only reason to use the tunnel would be to avoid 15 and go via Swenson/Paradise, right?

Maybe I need a GPS more than I've been willing to admit.
