First I never hand the $20 to the clerk until I know if I am getting an
upgrade that I want. Hold the $20 where they can see it while you ask if
there are any upgrades available. If they say there is, I then ask to what,
if it is what I want, then hand the $20 to the clerk. If not just decline
and put your $20 back in your pocket. Pat

----When you ask for the upgrade don't they just quote you a cost for that?
How do you say you don't want to pay for it but want to tip them for it? I
don't get it.
