Re: [casino_comps] Re: Free hotel comps

Here are a few reasons to figure:
- Downtown still has 3-2 blackjack versus 6-5 for the strip.  You compute the house advantage (considerable) difference.
- If you are a craps player, it is common downtown to have 10 or 20X odds versus the standard 3-4-5X on the strip (except for Casino Royale).
- Downtown has far superior video poker.  Only thing comparable close to the strip is the Palms.
- Downtown slots pay at least 1% more than the strip.  Check ASG or Slots Today.
- Downtown has real people (yep - includes the street people but not the strip porn-card people)  versus the wannabe people on the strip.

The above only holds true if your primary purpose to go to Vegas is to gamble.  If you value shows, glitzy-overpriced nicer rooms, way over-priced restaurants, and great shows over gambling, the strip is better.  However, the strip is only a short "deuce" ride away.  :-)

average Strip hotels. I wonder why anyone stays downtown, especially now,

when every hotel deals out comps like playing cards. I have not noticed that

the slots (or table game rules) are different from the Strip hotels. Is it
