I'm going back in May, staying at the Fitz again. But next year, I'd like to try someplace new, and it would probably behoove me to spend some time playing wherever I'm going to stay so I can get some room comps. I tried that with the Golden Nugget last year, but apparently, they're pretty stingy with their rooms...I've gotten room comps from other casinos with a fraction of the time and money I spent there last year. Any suggestions as to where I might be able to get some easy room comps at a decent hotel downtown? By decent, I mean not El Cortez or the Golden Gate. I know a lot of people swear by the Golden Nugget and say it's worth the extra cost to stay there, but I go to gamble; I could really care less about the room as long as it's clean and doesn't stink (see comment above about my room at Binion's). I always stay a couple of nights downtown and a couple of nights on the Strip, but I don't need any heads up on where to stay on the Strip...I've got plenty of room comps there.
