I agree that Herculaneum is a better choice than Pompeii. On my last visit to the Almafi coast -- we stayed in a Casa and the family we stayed with recommended Herculaneum over Pompeii. It's smaller, more manageable, and less busy.

If folks on this list would give more notice on NCL cruises, there would probably be more coordination.
I've been on two different routes out of Barcelona. The second time, I went to Herculaneum instead of Pompeii and would highly recommend it. Much more dramatic, much more variety. Look it up.
