As usual, I was fully comped in the Concierge Tower. I was there alone and my meal requirements were minimal. Nevertheless, I was
apprehensive about possible changes to the program, after reading
all the Atlantis chatter on the Reno board.
In my case at least, nothing of any concern to me, has changed.
Since the Atlantis offers no CB, and I don't have a burning desire
to shop in their overpriced gift shop (which, incidentally, requires
TWO comp dollars for every purchase dollar) the fact that the comps
add up more slowly, (about half of what they formally were) did not
impact negatively on me at all. Also negating the lesser comps, on single point days, are the two, three and four times points on the
multiple point days. There were three multi-point days, of the five days that I was there.
My room was pre-comped, using discretionary comps, and all the food which I consumed in the casino was charged to my room, and comped, by my host, at check-out. Even if the food charges were taken from my comp account, it made no difference to me, as I was not going to use them for any other worthwhile purpose.
I did "purchase" with comp dollars, a few small christmas tree ornaments from the gift shop, for the nice ladies in my office. That made only a miniscule dent in my comp account, which was substantial
from prior trips. On this trip, I earned an additional $200+ in new comps.
I also had a nice winning trip, and was privileged to play a great variety of probably the best VP inventory in the world, at this time.
NOTHING has occurred at the Atlantis, which would prevent me from continuing to stay there when I'm in Reno.
During the current economic turndown, I'm pleased that The Atlantis is attempting to staunch the flow of profit bleeding, by reducing
comp dollars earned, rather than good VP inventory! To me, thst
is preferable to the counter measures which many LV casinos have implemented.

You'll be fine. It was my 9th winning trip in a row which got me the hook. To be truthful, I can't remember a place in Reno which I didn't smoke. I wish it was that easy everywhere else.
